Affordable Homeownership with ECLT
Crystalle Guss is not affiliated with Elevation Community Land Trust. The website is for informational purposes only. This information is accurate as of April 26, 2024. For the most current details, please visit elevationclt.org.
Step 1: Estimate Your Household Income compared to program Income Limits
(a) Determine your household size (total number of people that would live in ECLT home at least 50% of the time)
(b) Review the Income Sheet for the location where you would like to purchase a home and for your household size and see if your total annual household income is estimated to be at or below the maximum household income. Please use the higher (MTSP) limit for determining program eligibility, knowing that some homes may only be available for buyers qualifying under the lower (FMR) income limits due to funding sources. See each individual property listing for details.
*ECLT cannot confirm eligibility until you complete the full application.
Step 2: Complete the ECLT Online Orientation
Completion of the ECLT Orientation is a requirement to apply to our program.
Enroll for the ECLT Online Orientation at the appropriate link below.
Complete all orientation modules with a passing grade of 80% or higher – this will make you eligible for your Certificate of Completion to upload with your application.
Step 3: Complete a CHFA Homebuyer Education Course
Enroll in a CHFA Homebuyer Education Course, either in person (free) or online ($75)
Speak with a CHFA Homeownership Counselor to confirm your understanding of the course materials (CHFA will coordinate this step with you) – this will make you eligible for your Certificate of Completion to upload with your application.
If you are an out of state applicant, please contact info@elevationclt.org for information.
Step 4: Speak with an ECLT Participating Lender
Contact one or more ECLT Participating Lenders about obtaining a Pre-Approval Letter for ECLT’s Homeownership Program. All ECLT lenders only provide fixed-rate conventional mortgages to our homebuyers.
Work with your selected lender to complete an Initial Loan Application – both the pre-approval letter and the initial loan application will be required to complete your ECLT Application.
Step 5: Apply to ECLT’s Affordable Homeownership Program!
Click on “Start An Application” and this will take you to ECLT’s free pre-screener. You must complete the pre-screener with information that indicates you may qualify for ECLT’s program to receive a link to the ECLT Application. If returning to a partially completed application, you will need to verify your email and then use instead of using a login and password.
Pay the $25 Non-Refundable Application Fee if you “pass” the pre-screener and then check your email for a link to your ECLT Application. Contact us at apply@elevationclt.org with any technical questions about the application.
Complete your application within 60 days of starting it to remain in the ECLT system. If there is no activity within your application within 60 days (such as uploading documents or completing sections), your information will be withdrawn and you will need to pay the $25 again to re-apply.
Wait to hear from ECLT Application Review Staff within 10 business days of your submittal. Your application is not approved until you receive a letter from ECLT that says “Congratulations…” in regards to your final ECLT approval.
